I’m teaching Basics in April… any requests?

I’m going to be teaching the Tuesday night Basics classes in April 2025 in New York City (SoHo), starting Tuesday April 1.

I have some ideas for how I’m going to structure the classes and what topics I’m going to cover—but I also wonder if potential students have any special requests?

If you are likely to attend a class in NYC, what would you like to see taught at a Tuesday night Basics class? Please put your suggestions in the comments below!

Hi Kristy, it’s a drop-in class—you just need to show up at 100 Grand St., 2d Floor, by 6:30pm (or a little before). Ring “Bill Young 2F.” Goes until 8:30pm. No experience necessary. Tuesdays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 (not 29).

Loose, comfortable clothing that covers knees and elbows (think long-sleeve shirt + sweat pants or yoga pants, although don’t stress if you’ve only got a T-shirt) is recommended. Oh—you should expect to (1) be barefoot (socks are okay, but shoes must come off per studio rules), (2) be rolling on the floor at times, and (3) be touching other people.

$20, payable by cash or Venmo.

Title of the first class is “What is Contact Improvisation?” :)
